The Horticulture Initiative in Ballybeg Community Development Centre is running full time, QQI Level 4 Certified courses.
This level 4 is in progression to a QQI Level 5.
All of these courses are funded by the Education and Training Board.
We are presently taking Applications now, with start date scheduled for the New Year. See below for details about our upcoming open day.
The Horticulture Initiative courses enable students to discover the gift that is Horticulture, equip them with the necessary skills & practices, with tangible outcomes in the shape of QQI Certification.

- How to identify the PH level of soil
- The tools and equipment you will need to grow vegetables and flowering plants
- Growing techniques
- Pest control
- Preparing your site for growing

- Health & safety
All our trainers have a Train the Trainers qualification.
Ballybeg Horticulture are having an open day on 11th September at 12pm in the Parish Centre, Ballybeg. We are recruiting for our new Level 4 course in Horticulture which will start in early February.
